Not only is Naomi Campbell known for her own violent behavior, she is refusing to help convict a violent warmonger!
Rage-prone supermodel Naomi Campbell does NOT want to answer questions about the “blood diamond” that was allegedly given to her by former Liberian President and warmonger Charles Taylor! Taylor is currently on trial for his crimes against humanity in Sierra Leone. And even though Naomi is a huge part of the international trial, questioning from an ABC reporter about the alleged diamond, led to yet another one of Campbell’s infamous outbursts!
During a recent Fashion Week interview, ABC asked Naomi about the incident … and the model went berserk! “I didn’t receive a diamond and I’m not going to speak about that,” she told ABC News before walking out of an interview and punching the camera in a producer’s hand! WATCH!
This interview will air tonight on World News with Diane Sawyer and Nightline in a special about Charles Taylor’s trial, held by the Special Court for Sierra Leone. Part of the story will recall an incident in 1997, when Naomi and actress Mia Farrow both visited South Africa as guests of Nelson Mandela. According to Mia, President Taylor, a Liberian war monger, gave Naomi “a huge diamond” during the stay.
The problem? Taylor was allegedly in South Africa at the time “to buy weapons for the Sierra Leone rebels with blood diamonds,” reports Page Six. The rebels were responsible for committing violence — including cutting off the hands of countless men, women, and children — against citizens.
Now, prosecutors in the Taylor trial say Campbell is refusing to be interviewed about the incident, despite the fact that her co-operation could could help directly link Taylor to the possession of uncut diamonds, which he allegedly used to fund acts of terror against the citizens of Sierra Leone between 1997 and 2001.
Should Naomi co-operate and explain what really happened when she met Charles Taylor? Tell us what you think!
