All mommies wish there was a quick fix to ridding of the pooch after having a baby. Unfortunately, it just takes a lot of hard work!
All mothers feel the same right after giving birth — they just want their bodies back instantly! “I wish there was some sort of magic pill, but there isn’t,” Ugly Betty‘s Ana Ortiz, who had her first daughter Paloma Louise on June 27, 2009, told HollyWoodLife.com exclusively at the 2010 Verizon NFL Draft Eve Event at restaurant Abe & Arthur’s in NYC on Apr. 21. “It’s all about working out” — that’s the only way to make a difference!
“I’ve been doing a lot more stretching and ab work as opposed to crunches because I like to stay long and lean,” Ana continued. “For me, it’s more about pilates exercise than a crunch.”
Like Kourtney Kardashian, Ana also used a Belly Bandit — an abdominal compression wrap that helps your muscles repair themselves after birth — to help her regain her former figure and flat tummy.
“I did it. It really worked for me,” Ana said. “I don’t know for other people, but for me I literally put it on the day after I gave birth and wore it and it really worked for me. I would take it off to shower or whatever and my husband would be like, ‘Dang your stomach is like … I’m married to like Heidi Klum.’ But, I’d be like, ‘Oh, shut up!’ But it really works!”
For Anna, she didn’t have the normal amount of time it takes for a woman’s body to recover after she gave birth. “I had to go back to work two weeks after I gave birth so it was pretty brutal,” she explained. “I would say I really didn’t feel solidly back to myself until like four to four and a half months afterward.”
So, she wants women to know that it’s OK to “take your time and work out.” “Be kind to yourself,” she said. “You just have to give yourself that time” to recover.
