A self-professed nerd, Zoe Saldana tells us why she LOVES being an action starlet!
It’s hard to believe someone as beautiful and charming as Zoe Saldana was ever less than cool, but the Avatar starlet tells us she was never the popular girl in high school, so she loves being the butt-kicking heroine in the highest-grossing film ever!
“It’s [great] if you were a geek in school, and I was, so it’s cool to feel cool for five minutes because I never knew what it was like when I was younger. So booya!” Zoe, 31, told reporters at the premiere of her latest action film, The Losers, April 20 in Los Angeles, adding, “But it’s really good as an artist to be able to expand and push yourself because I only know how far I can go when I push myself.”
In The Losers, which is based on a comic series, Zoe plays the role of Aisha, a tough girl who was trained to fight as a child and kills any enemy she comes up against. Even though Aisha seems like a cold-blooded killer, Zoe sees the inner-good within her character, telling us, “I don’t think Aisha likes to fight. I think she’s cornered and she’s got no alternative, so she’ll do it.”
