Want a designer dress on your special day without having to splurge? Here’s your chance!
I love a good designer collaboration as much as I love a good bargain, which is why I was so excited when I heard that Vera Wang was teaming up with David’s Bridal! Vera, who has made dresses worn by lovely ladies on their big day, (including A-listers like Victoria Beckham, Jen Garner, Jessica Simpson, and Mariah Carey), is set to design a collection of 20 wedding dresses, ranging from $600-$1,500 with most of the dresses falling under the $1,2000 range for next spring, with bridesmaids dresses to follow.
Vera says, “I am thrilled for the chance to bring my very specific vision to David’s Bridal, the biggest wedding retailer in America. The ability to grow my sphere of influence in the bridal world is both a huge creative and business opportunity and one I am so excited about. With this new challenge, I hope to speak with a level of taste and authority that will resonate with brides everywhere.”
Her regular bridal line, which is much steeper in price, ranges anywhere from $4,000-$25,000. Vera’s gorgeous creations will finally be available at an attainable price — and I think it’s great! I can’t wait to see the first sketches and creations, although I’m sure they will possess the timeless elegance that makes Vera Wang so popular.

I think it’s wonderful that women who may not have money enough to afford a couture wedding dress made by hand from all the best materials (including silk fabric, french lace, and swarovski crystals) will still get the opporturnity to wear a gown by the most brilliant bridal designer in the world, who single-handedly synthesized the “fairytale” bridal industry with the general fashion industry and is still setting bridal trends. For those with a modest pocket book, it’s the opportunity of a lifetime. Go Vera!
