Carrie Underwood Celebrated & Taylor Swift Slighted At Academy Of Country Music Awards!

Country Music celebrated young artists and musicians last night — but Taylor Swift went home without a single award!

It was a big night for country music cutie Carrie Underwood!

On Sunday Apr. 18, Carrie was in Las Vegas for the Academy of Country Music Awards, where she made history by becoming the first woman ever to win the “Entertainer of the Year” award twice! Congrats Carrie!

But there was another HUGE  shock of the evening. Taylor Swift —  despite being nominated for five awards — went home empty handed last night!

Instead, Taylor’s country counterparts, Lady Antebellum, Miranda Lambert, and Luke Bryan dominated in categories like Song of the Year and Top Female Vocalist. Check out the full list of winners here, and tell us — do you think Taylor Swift was cheated?

No, Taylor Swiftwas not cheated. Her songs have no story to them and is hard to understand what shes ging about.

On the other hand—Carrie underwood is the full package.
Talented, and man can she sing as well as cute in anything she decides to weat. I love the story line to her songs and she deserves every award she gets.

Here’s the thing, Robin. Whether or not someone has talent or not is an opinion. It can’t be accurately quantified. You say the other artists were a million times more talented, but that’s just what you–one person–think. The millions of people that go to Taylor’s shows think she’s talented, but once again it’s just their personal opinions. What are the ACMs judging as talent? If it’s purely live vocal talent, then I’d agree that Taylor isn’t the strongest, but if EOTY means sheer number of people entertained than I’d say Taylor would’ve been more than deserving of the award. No one will ever agree because everyone has different opinions of what talent actually means and what the most important parts of the country music industry are.

I watched Carrie Underwood through out her season of American Idol and i have kept up with her music, bought her cd’s, and im truely a huge fan. But i do have to say.. I think the female Entertainer of the Year should have gone to Taylor. :( Sorry Taylor! I guess the there must be haters working for the Academy or something. Im sorry.. But both the girls should keep up the good work=) Thier making some great music!

Hell to the f**k to the yeah! Of course she was cheated. Never will an award show be as rigged as the ACMs last night. Everyone knows Carrie -or anyone else in the category- didn’t deserve it. Taylor did. But it’s their loss. They lose credibility. A LOT. I won’t watch next year unless Taylor performs. By the way, her performance was nothing short of epic. Everything else was just there. Including Carrie’s performance. The important thing here is: everyone knows who really deserved it. And it definitely wasn’t Carrie…

No – Taylor was not slighted. Those other artists are a million times more talented than Taylor in ALL areas including songwriting, singing and performing.

Her performance last night was yet another off-key embarrassment. While it was better than the Grammy perfomance, it was still pretty terrible.

I don’t think she was cheated. While Taylor Swift is a good song writer, she is not that great of a singer. The award last night was for top VOCALIST, and to be the entertainer of the year, you really need to have the whole package.

Totally agree, Taylor cannot sing..sweet, beautiful and talented song writer but no vocals in my opinion. Carrie totally deserved to win she has that total package.
