There are still seven contestants left on Idol, but experts say it’s going to come down to Lee & Crystal!
Unless you’ve been wearing earmuffs while watching American Idol this season, it should be pretty clear to you that Crystal Bowersox, 24, is the most fawned-over singer on the show, and the favorite to make it to the finale in May. Homesickness almost made her call it quits last week, but thankfully Ryan Seacrest convinced her to stay and fight for the #1 title. That coveted second spot is still up for grabs, though, and Entertainment Weekly TV blogger Shayne Zucker says it should go to Chicago soul man Lee DeWyze, 24. “Should he make it to the finals, which is a decent possibility, [Lee] is probably the one who can defeat Crystal.” …What? Were you expecting him to choose Tim Urban?
The New York Post writes that “online oddsmakers” are calling Crystal the “even-money favorite to win,” with Lee and fellow rocker Casey James tied at 2-1/2 to 1 for the runner-up spot.
What do you think of this, BFFs? Crystal, Lee and Casey are certainly being showered with love — but where does that leave the rest of the Idol gang? Do Siobhan Magnus, 20, Michael Lynche, 26, Aaron Kelly, 17, or Tim, 20, even stand a chance against the guitar-wielding powerhouses?
