UPDATE! Crystal Bowersox, I Am SO Glad Your 'Moment Of Doubt' Is Over & You Didn't Quit 'American Idol'!

Ryan Seacrest managed to convince Idol front-runner Crystal to stay in the competition – and I’m breathing a huge sigh of relief right now. Are you?

Bless you, Ryan Seacrest. You deserve a badge of honor for your most recent act of kindness: keeping Crystal Bowersox on American Idol.

The 24-year-old AI front-runner got her dreadlocks in a twist two weeks ago, and said she couldn’t take being in the competition any longer. She wanted to go back to her hometown of Elliston, Ohio and see her family, including nearly year-old old son Mason.

Cue Superhero Seacrest, 35. “Ryan told Crystal that being on Idol was like starting a business, and if she won she’d get a recording contract and become a millionaire,” reports TMZ. “Seacrest sealed the deal by telling her, ‘The greatest thing I ever did was make enough money so I could buy my mom a house…You can buy your mom a house.”

Did I say Seacrest the Superhero? What I REALLY meant was Seacrest the Sneaky Superhero! Way to play on the girl’s emotions, Ryan.

Still, Crystal’s still standing, still singing, still making me happy week after week (most recently she sang “Saved” during Elvis Presley week April 13). “We all have moments of doubt. As much as I miss my kid, the big picture is this: im doing this for him and my fans. I’m having the time of my life!” she posted on her Facebook page April 16.

Well, Ryan, you’ve certainly got my permission to do what you’ve got to do to keep Crystal in the game. There IS no competition if she’s not in it!

Do you agree?

To be away from my kid is one of the toughest things I ever had to do. Of course any parent would have one of those days wherein you feel like giving up! I love Crystal she’s genuinely real and down to earth, and thank you Ryan for giving Crystal a pep talk!
