Love watching Stacy London and her witty comebacks on TLC’s What Not To Wear? Me too! Check out what she has to say to me about looking and feeling fabulous and why she loves her X-Men gray streak!
We all love Stacy London as the smart talking stylist on TLC’s What Not To Wear. I personally can’t get enough of her “shut the front door” reactions. When Stacy isn’t making over everyday women, she’s the spokeswoman for Pantene. Whether she’s rocking her signature gray streak or perfectly shiny locks, I’ve always envied Stacy’s killer hair. So, I needed to know what’s her secret to always looking her best! Check out what Stacy has to say about her signature style, what she really looks like when the cameras aren’t rolling and why it’s always important to switch things up.
Me: You work on a makeover show, why is it important for women’s looks to always evolve?
Stacy: Style evolution is important. Looking relevant, modern, timely and appropriate in terms of your age, body type and lifestyle is not only about the joy of self-expression but a form of self-care: it lets the world know how you want to be perceived and treated.
Me: What is it about hair that can totally change someone’s mood?
Stacy: I actually think it MUST be something biological. Great hair just translates into a great mood. And feeling like you look great gives you confidence! Great hair is easy to attain with the right care and products, which is why I love my Pantene!
Me: What hairstyle makes you feel the most confident?
Stacy: I don’t know that one style gives me more confidence than another. I like to experiment. For me, the key is to keep my hair looking healthy, shiny and strong no matter what style I’m sporting!
Me: When you’re not in front of the camera, what does your hair look like?
Stacy: Usually a little messy to be honest. I love the beachy hair/ cool rocker look.
Me: Tell us a little about your signature gray streak.
Stacy: I’ve had my gray streak since I was 12 so for me, it IS my signature and it has nothing to do with age for me. Some people think it’s cool. Some people think it makes me look older. But for me, it’s just a part of who I am and I like to embrace that. Also, I think it’s cool to look a little like Rogue from X-men. ;)
Me: What’s the best hair advice you’ve ever gotten?
Stacy: Well two things really.
First, is overall advice: your hair is an accessory, just like shoes or a bag and you can utilize it to create your own individual style.
Second, was very specific. When I was hired to be on What Not To Wear my executive producer said one thing: “Grow your hair out.”
