Isn’t it nice to know not everything is super glamorous, even for actresses’?
Doesn’t Emily Mortimer look fantastic, especially considering she gave birth to her second child, May Rose, (who’s just under three months old), in January? Well, according to her, it’s all about “rooting through your wardrobe to find things to cover up the damage, anything that is just forgiving for big boobs and a big belly,” she said at the premiere of Armida at the Metropolitan Opera sponsored by Yves Saint Laurent on Apr. 12 in NYC. Emily, regardless of how you may feel post-baby, you looked great in that green YSL frock, although it is nice to know not everyone can wake up looking like Gisele right after having a baby!
Emily, who was both funny and extremely down to earth, didn’t hold back when she shared the gritty details of motherhood– I’m sure many new moms can relate! So what does she plan to stock up on for spring? Deodorant and dry shampoo! “You’re lucky if you get to brush your teeth before about 6 o’clock in the afternoon, and days go by without having a shower or a bath or anything like that so I’m all for products that cover up the smell, lots of deodorant comes in very handy, and dry shampoo because then you don’t need a bath for three days,” she said.
So, is there anything she wished someone would have told her before motherhood? “I wish I would have known how much to enjoy lying in, a good night sleep is just a thing of the past,” she said. “I don’t think it’s ever going to happen again!” Emily, you may have your hands full, but considering how you manage to look red carpet ready, you must be a pro at multi-tasking!
