How pretty is Malin Ackerman’s unexpected half braided ponytail?

We’ve been seeing a ton of braids on the red carpet this season. Everything from Selena Gomez‘s gorgeous side version at the Kid’s Choice Awards to Kristen Stewart‘s braided Oscar bun, braids are definitely the style for spring. I love the fresh take Malin Akerman took on the braid at an NYC screening of her new flick, Elektra Luxx on Apr. 9. In the front, Malin went for a dramatic side part that was slicked back into a ponytail. She used a hair elastic in a shade similar to her hair color. Then, she loosely braided only half of the pony. Malin left the ends straight and wrapped a small amount of hair around the elastic to hide it. I really like this look, and, it’s super easy to do yourself. I might even cheat and try it with wet hair on a hot summer day. - Marta Topran
