Will you watch — or, to be frank, give a hoot about — Kate G if she’s on reality TV without Jon G or her eight kids?
Kate Gosselin‘s return to reality TV has finally been unveiled, but Jon and the kids will be conspicuously absent.
Today, TLC is announcing, according to USA Today, that Kate’s new show will be called Twist of Kate. The concept is that Kate will use “fan letters inspired by her story as the basis for profiles of women facing their own challenges.”
(This may explain why Kate was spotted waiting tables in North Carolina with a camera crew late last year.)
Looks like Kate, over the course of the show’s 12 episodes, will be trying to understand women’s concerns. “She will be in that person’s shoes. And more often than not, it’s not going to be terribly comfortable for her,” says TLC head Eileen O’Neill tells USA Today. “She’s game for things, but she also has limits and boundaries.”
There will also be a series of specials called Kate Plus 8 which will, according to the network, “revisit” her family life, though no more details about those shows has yet been released.
Meanwhile, in the “real” life of the Gosselins, Jon just filed a suit yesterday asking for a Pennsylvania court to reverse his and Kate’s current custody arrangement, wherein Kate has primary physical custody and Jon is required to pay her $21,000 in child support per month.
