Danielle’s 12-year-old daughter Jillian is about to break into the music scene and I got to go behind the scenes into the recording studio while she recorded her first single!
Move over Miley Cyrus because The Real Housewives of New Jersey star Danielle Staub tells HollywoodLife.com her daughter Jillian, 12, is about to blow up the pop scene! I even got a chance to sit in the NYC recording studio Apr. 6 and watch Jillian record her first single “Whatcha saying.”
“Any age group will be interested in listening to Jillian’s music,” says Danielle. “It’s clean, fresh, fun and entertaining. I call it pop with a little twist of soul. She has a great pop voice and it’s not like lollipops and bubble gum but yet you could eat some pizza and have some fun. You have a journey with her music. I think she’s relateable and she’ll touch a wide group of people.”
In the recording studio sat Jillian’s vocal coach, choreographer, music producer, mom and 16-year-old sister Christine who is IMG model. “I just put something together I thought would work for her,” says songwriter Lori Michaels. “She’s great. The title of the single … it’s something Jillian said yesterday when we were together. It’s just a phrase and I played off of that.”
Danielle makes sure to point out she was blown away when she discovered Jillian’s talent. “I had attached myself to Miley’s song “Climb” … I was going through a really tough time,” confesses Danielle. “So on my 46th birthday Jillian took the microphone from the karaoke machine and sang a cappella a song she had written for me called “You’re not alone.”
The mom of two says she admires pop sensation Justin Bieber‘s mom Pattie Mallette. “Both of my children are in the industry. I’m their “momager” instead of a manager I’m a momager,” says Danielle. “I’m going to be there every step of the way and it’s critical for the kids to have guidance if they’re going to start on their passions at such a young age. Hats off to Justin’s mom — I’ll be seeing her on tour!”
