James Franco is an actor, director, and now a to-be doc! Don’t you think he sounds like the perfect catch?

It looks like the staff of General Hospital really rubbed off on James Franco! The actor — who played a sociopath serial killer named Franco on the long-running ABC soap opera — is swapping roles and becoming a real-life doc, now that he’s been accepted into the English Ph.D. program at Yale University!

The 31-year-old Spider-Man actor – who has an undergraduate degree from UCLA and a MFA from NYC’s prestigious Columbia University– is apparently ready to hit the books again, and although he’s considering other schools, Yale is looking like a reality. “[James] loves Yale and it is more than likely his first choice,” his rep told the Yale Daily News.

If the smarty-pants star signs on the dotted line, he will start the rigorous program this fall and follow in the footsteps of fellow brainiac thespians like Meryl Streep, Jodie Foster and Claire Danes.

James has brains AND beauty. Really, is there anything sexier?
