Was Bethenny's Bride Sweatsuit Too Cute Or Too Cheesy?

Before and after she slipped into her wedding gown, she stayed comfy in a sweatsuit! This is what I thought of the look, but what did you think?

Wearing a sweatsuit when you get your hair done on the big day is totally practical, but it seems like the comfy get-up has turned into quite a style staple! While celebs, (like Britney Spears and Khloe Kardashian), have taken the trend to a new level with personalized sweatsuits, I’ve seen the trend pop up in many wedding photos over the past couple of years — and I don’t just mean in magazines, I’m talking about girls I’m friends with on Facebook!

Bethenny’s pre-wedding look didn’t bother me at first, but I don’t understand why she changed back into the sweatsuit at the end of the night. I know she’s pregnant and her wedding gown probably wasn’t the most comfortable get-up for the bride-to-be, but I wish she slipped into a short white dress. Don’t schlep around in sweats on your big day! Changing into a shorter dress is becoming increasingly popular — and it’s a fun way to get comfortable for celebrating! Bethenny, you’re always so put together — this laid back look just doesn’t make sense to me!

Don’t get me wrong, the whole pants and hoodie combo does add a cute personal touch to the special day and it is totally practical, but I’m so sick of the trend. While Juicy Couture is responsible for the initial sweatsuit craze, I think its fifteen minutes of fame are up! The whole matchy get-up looks more cheesy than chic. I get that weddings, showers, and bachelorette parties are about being cute and corny, but the look just isn’t for me — and unless the sweatsuit is still your signature style staple, I don’t think it should be for you either! I always feel so bad when I see poor bridesmaids forcing smiles in photos sporting the matchy-match outfit, when you know they would’ve felt way more comfortable in a button down and jeans. The only thing worse than a bride-to-be in this look is a whole brigade of girls! I think there are other ways to add a personal touch to the big day without relying on a stale sweatsuit, but what do you think?
