We hear congratulations are in order!
Isla Fisher and Sacha Baron Cohen finally capped off their six-year engagement with a super private wedding in Paris on March 15, Australian magazine Women’s Day is reporting. “We did it — we’re married!” Isla reportedly wrote in an e-mail to friends following the nuptials. “It was the absolute best day of my life and in so many beautiful moments I missed you all so much.”
Australian-born Isla, 34, and English-born Sasha, 38, reportedly “wanted a no fuss” ceremony, and only invited a couple of close family and friends to their traditional Jewish wedding. Isla famously converted to Judaism, saying in 2005, “I’m constantly asking [Sacha] questions about [Judaism] because it’s really beautiful and complex. It’s so interesting to find out what lies beneath the Jewish afro.”
They began their engagement in 2004, and Isla gave birth their daughter Olive in Oct. 2007.
And no doubt the wedding was full of laughs! Sacha sky-rocketed to fame in the US with HBO’s hilarious series Da Ali G Show, and followed it up with movies like Borat and Bruno. Also known for her comedy, you probably first remember Isla as Rachel McAdams‘ crazy sister in Wedding Crashers and the lead character in Confessions of a Shopaholic.
