The Bounty Hunter came in third place in the box office this weekend.
We still can’t believe it! Jennifer Aniston‘s new movie The Bounty Hunter had a slow opening this past weekend, according to Deadline.com. The romantic comedy, starring Jen and her reported love interest Gerard Butler, made $20.5 million — falling behind predictions that went as high as $30 million. It came in behind Alice in Wonderland and Diary of a Wimpy Kid, which raked in $34 and $21.8 million, respectively.
But don’t blame Jen for the disappointing showing! She’s has had some big hits in the past year: The Break-up made $118 million, He’s Just Not That Into You made $93 million and Marley and Me took in a whopping $143 million!
Keep in mind, too, that He’s Just Not That Into You opened not too far ahead of The Bounty Hunter, at $27 million. In the weeks to come, it could out to be a hit after all!
And the lackluster box office performance didn’t stop the movie’s stars from having fun this weekend: Gerard hit up a Lakers game with pal Adrien Brody on Sunday, according to JustJared.com, and Jen kept busy filming her next comedy Just Go With It in Los Angeles with Adam Sandler.
Good job staying busy, Jen. Ignore those critics — we LOVED the movie!

I saw the film and it was not terrible. but it was not GOOD either. It felt like something one would expect from an actor or actress just starting out. And there was no chemistry between them. Too much childish fighting on screen.
I agree that it just seems as if women want fluff. And films with no substance. Damn what happen to really funny movies for women. Where the woman did not act like an airhead. And the guy had actual charm. I miss those kinds of films. This one considering how popular people claim they both are should have made at least 30 million. 15 per actor.. but nope. and yes the marketing was in you face 24/7.. that movie DOWK had no where near the push.. Love jen or gerry or both.
This was not a good movie.. and next week it may be dead in the water..
