They were married and now they’re divorced but they’re still friends! Could you do it?

Even if ’till death do you part’ doesn’t work out don’t worry you can always be friends! Avril Lavigne and Sum 41 frontman Deryck Whibley are still friends even though they  divorced after a three-year marriage in Oct. 2009. The two went to Madeo, an Italian restaurant in West Hollywood, and dined with two friends on Mar. 21. They had the burrata with tomato and mozzarella and penne Madeo for their man. After dinner Avril and Deryck hit up Tattoo Mania on Sunset Blvd  around 2:00 AM — no word if they got inked.

We would assume it’s super hard to remain friends with an ex — especially an ex-husband! But Deryck accompanied Avril to the Alice in Wonderland premiere in London Feb. 25 and he even helped her mix the movie’s theme song “Alice” along with her upcoming fourth studio album, Pink Crust. She told Ryan Seacrest on his morning show that, “He’s one of my best friends. We’ve been friends for a really long time, and we will always be. We’re family and we have a connection.”

Avril was recently reportedly dating Brody Jenner … we wonder how he feels about the two hanging out!

Look how all this Gossip sources are FAKE
the album is NOT going to be called Pink Crust we stil don’t know the name yet.

and it’s good they’re staying as friends.

They are still friends and her fourth album is not called pink crust. It was a rumor started by avril bandaids.

I thought Avril was dating Brandon Davis? or at least seeing him. maybe he was just a stepping stone to Brody.

and yes, I’m still friends with all my exes and I’d be able to be friends with my husband if we ever break up. Especially for the sake of our kids.

If you have two people that are mature enough too let go of old issues; and they are will to make a genuine effort to work through the bigger issues equitably; and if they still can respect each other. You absolutely can make it work. But it takes two people who are willing to make a genuine effort and work at it, the sad thing is that one person or the other is not mature enough to make a genuine commitment. They same goes for staying married, it takes work, but sometimes you just marry too young, which is likely the case with Avril and Deryck. I commend their effort to stay friends, it is a mature thing to do, few can do it. I would not be surprised if this friendship lasts a a very longtime.
