A resident at the Oakwood apartment complex witnessed Corey Haim in his last living hours and tells HollywoodLife.com what he saw
Actor and 80s teen idol Corey Haim passed away suddenly early March 10 from a reported accidental drug overdose. His neighbor at the Oakwood apartments in Los Angeles, Jim Conessa, witnessed the star’s last living moments and recalled them exclusively to HollywoodLife.com.
“I saw him being wheeled out around 1 a.m. and I thought he looked alive,” Conessa said. “The ambulance was here about 30 minutes. Corey still had an oxygen mask. He appeared to still be alive.”
Corey, 38, was allegedly staying with his mother, Judy, at the Oakwood complex, which is near Universal City and is known for its affordable and pre-furnished apartments.
According to TMZ, Haim collapsed in the bedroom of his mother’s apartment and four prescription bottles were found nearby. TMZ also reports no illicit drugs were found in the apartment.
Conessa doesn’t recall seeing the actor — who went to rehab more than 15 times — at the complex frequently. However, recently he says Corey appeared in better health.
Canadian-born Haim starred in the films Murphy’s Romance, The Lost Boys, License to Drive and Dream a Little Dream. He and his frequent co-star Corey Feldman earned the name “The Two Coreys” and even starred in an A&E ‘reality’ called The Two Coreys from 2007 to 2008.
