We got to chat with Seth Campbell, the designer behind the cool sneakers we’ve spotted on all your fave celebs!

Seth Campbell, the guy behind UES, (Upper Echelon Shoes), is changing the concept of casual footwear — and considering his fan base includes Miley Cyrus, Fergie, Gwen Stefani, and Audrina Patridge he must be doing something right! Not only does he have a huge celeb following, but Seth has teamed up with Steve Madden for an exciting partnership. He told us a little bit about his inspiration and who he’s dying to see in his shoes — here’s what he had to say!

What made you decide to design sneakers?
“My father was and still is my idol. Whatever he was doing, I wanted to be doing.”

When did you start designing sneakers?
“I’ve been sketching shoes since I was six years old. My father is in the footwear business, and when I was just a kid I used to draw designs on the top of my father’s shoe sketches.”

You have so many celebrity fans, but if there’s one person you want to see wearing your shoes, who would it be?
“Kate Moss.”

Do you want to design clothing one day?
“I wouldn’t rule it out, but I am plenty busy designing shoes. It could be pretty cool.”

What’s up next for you?
Ideally, I’d love to put fashion-forward designer-casual footwear on the map, and continue to expand the genre with each new collection.

What was the inspiration behind the current line?
“The heart behind UES is to offer a line that suits a multitude of looks for the fashion-forward customer looking for high fashion within comfort. Whether you need a go-to accessory to complete your outfit, want to transform a simple look into an edgy and individual one, or simply turn heads, UES is the answer.”

How many pairs of sneakers do you own? Did you always have an interest in sneakers?
“I used to own hundreds but I’ve since given them all away because I only wear UES! And yes, I’ve always loved sneakers.”
