How great did first-time nominee Anna Kendrick look at the Oscars with her rosy glow?
Anna Kendrick may not have won the Oscar last night but she sure looked gorgeous on the red carpet. “We were going for something more ethereal, very natural, young and fresh,” says celebrity makeup artist Sara Glick who created Anna’s Oscar look. “She’s so easygoing and we really wanted to reflect that. We wanted to keep it soft. We didn’t want to overdo anything. She looks so great in peach and pink colors it ended up being perfect with that dress.”
To prep Anna’s skin, Sara used Arcona Magic White Ice. “It’s a gel moisturizer. For her its great because it’s lighter and doesn’t clog pores and protects against outdoor environmental damage,” Sara says.
“We went with a more subtle and soft look, I wanted to use her natural beauty so I accented the apples of her cheeks with Tarte Cheek Stain in Eco-cheek,” Sara says. “She and I both love products that have natural ingredients.”
“For her lips I used the Tarte Natural Lip Stain in Charmed. It’s a very light pink as a base and then I added a pale cotton candy pink gloss on top of that,” Sara says.
“Because she’s so fair we really wanted to stay with the soft look and the key was to blend it in her shadows. We didn’t want to overpower the radiance of her skin,” Sara says. They went for a more neutral palette with Dior 5-Colour Eyeshadow in Sunset Café and topped it off with black mascara. - Marta Topran
