Tim Burton worked his magic again: ‘Alice in Wonderland’ made $201 million worldwide over the weekend
The Mad Hatter won big this weekend! Tim Burton‘s eye-popping fairytale film was the biggest domestic 3-D opening ever and the highest-grossing movie of 2010, reports Deadline.com. In the U.S., it made $41 million on Friday and $44.3 million on Saturday. The worldwide three-day total was a whopping $210 million.
The other movies in theaters this weekend could barely touch Alice: Brooklyn’s Finest made $13.1 million, and Shutter Island followed close behind at $13 million.
Reviews have been mixed, but that obviously hasn’t stopped the people from coming out to see their favorite stars like Johnny Depp, Helena Bonham Carter, and Anne Hathaway.
Did you see Alice in Wonderland this weekend? What did you think?
