How happy are you for Jon that he and his daughter, Angelina Jolie, have finally reconnected? We can’t even imagine how we’d feel if we were unable to see our family!!
Jon Voight is a happy man now that he has officially met his six grandchildren for the first time over the weekend after a recent reconciliation with daughter Angelina Jolie.
“It was just wonderful to spend time with Angelina and Brad and the children,” the 76-year-old actor told RadarOnline.com on Feb. 24. “I’ve been waiting so long to hug my grandchildren and it was amazing, they are the most beautiful, loving kids you could imagine and I’m not just saying that because I’m their grandfather, they really are something special.”
He added of his daughter and her partner Brad Pitt, “Angelina and Brad are so happy together and they are the most amazing, loving parents I’ve ever seen. It truly moved me to see how Angie is as a mom, I am so proud of her – she has so much love to give and to share with the children and with Brad.”
Jon, who has been estranged from his now 34-year-old daughter since 2001 when she accused him of cheating on her mother, the late Marcheline Bertrand and went public with his opinion of her mental stability, also shared that the reconciliation process has been a slow one. “Angie and I have been in contact on the phone and by email for some time now. We’ve been working towards a full reconciliation for a while. Angie had to feel it was the right time to bring me into the lives of her and the kids and after some work she decided the moment had arrived.”
But the future looks bright for Jon and the Jolie-Pitt clan. Although the outcome is essentially up to Angelina, Jon still says, “I want to spend as much time with them as possible.”
