Bonnie Says: Hooray! Fashion Designers Fire Toothpick Models & Hire Victoria's Secret Angels!

Our Editor-in-Chief Bonnie Fuller just heard that the big wigs at Prada fired many of their toothpick-thin models!

Just heard that the big wigs at the Prada design house in Milan fired many off the toothpick-thin models that were originally booked for their fall 2010 fashion show, which is being held at this moment in Milan on Feb. 25th.

Shockingly, for the skinny-obsessed fashion world, they were replaced by more voluptuous Victoria’s Secret models, who actually have at least a little meat on their bones.

My source is telling me that the big revolutionary moment occurred last night during fittings for the highly regarded trend-setting fashion collection.

She reports that a casting director suddenly threw up his hands, said “F— it!” and ordered that sexy Victoria’s Secret Angel models, Miranda Kerr (girlfriend of Orlando Bloom), Alessandra Ambrosio, Doutzen Kroes and Isabeli Fontana airlifted in for today’s 1 pm EST show.

“It’s about being healthy,” said Project Runway judge and Elle magazine fashion director Nina Garcia. “At the end of the day it’s the modeling agencies who are sending girls who are minus zero.”

As someone who was the editor-in-chief of fashion magazines Glamour, Cosmopolitan, and Marie Claire, I can assure you that this emergency move could have earth-shatteringly positive consequences. In other words, we can expect that after uber-trend setter Prada has made this revolutionary move to curvier girls, other design houses will fall quickly in line. It’s great news for models — they can EAT again — and for real women with real shapes everywhere.

Furthermore, last night design company Elena Miro actually used regular size models — the kind that fashionistas call plus-size, and the rest of us describe as “normal.”

Tell us what you think!

This is awesome. I would love for models to enjoy the basic human pleasure of being able to eat again. I would love to see all designers protest anorexic appearing models.

please don’t take One Tree Hill off the air, you have a lot of die hard fans in my family alone from 10-44 years old. you have a wonderful story going on, and I want to see Brook get the big prize of a loving family with all the trimmings the Haley/Nathan story line is the best you let people see you can have a positive relationship as husband/wife the show has showned you how to be a friend to someone, how you and your spouse should stick together the show shows reality. Just the right amount of real life we needs and still hold our attention. One Tree Hill is about the last great show worth turning the tv to CW-11. You never should have let Michael M. leave the Lucus/Payton story wasn’t finnish. You have lots more roads to cover with this wonderful story pleas don’t let this be the last 4 shows PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE…………PLEASE
PS;
DAN; BRING HIM BACK, HE’S GREAT ALSO
TV ISN’T GOOD AS IT USE TO BE, SO DON’T TAKE ONE OF THE BEST SHOW OFF THE AIR YET, YOU HAVE AT LEAST 4-6 GOOD YEARS TO GO.GO..GO…GO….GO…..
