BEFORE THEY WERE 'IDOLS': Watch Top 24 Contestant Andrew Garcia's Acoustic Michael Jackson Medley!

Check out Idol hopeful Andrew Garcia pre-fame belting out Michael Jackson hits like ‘Man in the Mirror’ and ‘I Want You Back’

Just like Simon Cowell, we immediately fell for Andrew Garcia during the season nine Los Angeles auditions. He had us at ‘hello’ with his sultry version of Maroon 5’s ‘Sunday Morning’, and tugged at our heartstrings with his story (his parents were former gang bangers). Now, at 24, the young father wants a better life than he had for his toddler son. And—if this video of Andrew jamming with his guitar to Michael Jackson hits before he was on Idol is any indication of his star power to come—it looks like both he and his baby boy are in luck.

Shot with a Web cam in a darkly lit house, Andrew collaborated with his friend, singer Cathy Nguyen, to make this Michael Jackson Tribute. After watching Andrew’s pitch perfect (and creative) medley, it’s easy to understand why the SBC Global Sportsbook has the Moreno Valley, Calif. native pegged with the highest odds (9:2) to win season nine of American Idol.

Our analysis? This is guy is a genius. We adore him.

‘Keep The Faith’ Andrew – we think you’re in it to win it!
