Second Bombshell- Elin stands by her man BUT will she put in appearance at the press conference?
In a bombshell announcement released late Feb. 18 PGA Tour commissioner Tim Finchem stated in a letter obtained by the Associated Press that Tiger Woods would be returning to sex rehab immediately following his press conference:
“As we understand it, Tiger’s therapy called for a week’s break at this time during which he has spent a few days with his children and then will make his statement before returning … Accordingly, there was very little flexibility in the date for the announcement.”
Tiger has been undergoing treatment at the Gentle Path sex rehab facility which is part of the Pine Grove Behavioral Health & Addiction Services center in Hattiesburg, Ms., since mid January. Renowned sex rehabilitation expert Dr. Patrick Carnes heads the clinic and has been treating Tiger. While in rehab Tiger has been involved in intense recovery activities.
Tiger is expected to speak for 5 – 7 minutes at 11 a.m. EST from the Sunset Room located on the second floor of the TPC Sawgrass Golf and Country Club, home of the PGA Tour. Tiger will be speaking to one camera in front of a pool of handpicked reporters.
Radaronline is reporting that intense strategy sessions have been taking place between Tigers’ advisors and Elin debating whether she will be present at the press conference. “Everyone feels it would be much better for Elin to be there,” says an insider. “After all, he’s apologizing for his behavior. People are going to be a lot more receptive to his apology, if they see his wife has accepted his apology.”
Elin flew to Hattiesburg Jan. 19 for “family week” which is an in-depth disclosure period where Tiger revealed all of his past sexual encounters with his mistresses. It was reported that once Elin returned from seeing Tiger she was very happy with his progress.
Elin has still not been spotted wearing her wedding ring, but it was reported Feb. 3 that Elin dropped her high profile Orlando, Fl., divorce attorney to give her marriage a second chance.
Tiger made his first public appearance Feb. 18 while jogging with Corey Carroll, 23, (a golfer who Tiger mentors) near his Windermere, Fl., home. Elin was also spotted decked out from head to toe in Nike clad gear — Nike is one of the few sponsors who hasn’t yet dropped Tiger.
“While Tiger feels that what happened is fundamentally a matter between him and his wife, he also recognizes that he has hurt and let down a lot of other people who were close to him,” said Tiger’s agent, Mark Steinberg has said, while explaining the reason for Tiger’s announcement. “He also let down his fans. He wants to begin the process of making amends, and that’s what he’s going to discuss.”
Elin and Tiger were spotted eating dinner together last week but they are still living separately. Tiger is reportedly staying at their mansion while Elin is living in a house in the Lake Butler Sound estates neighborhood about 1 mile away.
