Are you tired of everyone focusing on women’s figures instead of their talent? Well, then listen to what Christina Hendricks has to say about it!
Christina Hendricks wants to be known for her role as Joan Holloway on AMC’s hit show Mad Men — but to many people, she is best known for her bust size. And she’s not happy about it!
“It kind of hurt my feelings at first,” she tells New York Magazine. “I was working my butt off on the show, and then all anyone was talking about was my body!”
Christina, 34, also says she never noticed that her voluptuous curves were not the norm in a pin-thin Hollywood. ”It might sound silly, but I didn’t realize I was so different. I was just oblivious,” she admits. “Sometimes I would go on an audition and someone would say something like, ‘Girl, you’re refreshing!’ That was it.”
But it’s not just HER bod that Christina hates talking about. Any conversation about body image is a turn-off! “It just leaves a bad taste in my mouth,” she tells New York. “Back when I was modeling, if someone said ‘I’m fasting,’ I would say, ‘Can’t we talk about something else?’”
Christina says that all the attention even makes her self-conscious. “Anytime someone talks about your figure constantly, you get nervous.” But being on a hit show that she loves working on makes any of the unwanted attention worth it!
“We’re really spoiled on Mad Men,” says Christina. “Lots of television actors use the down season to go out and get creatively fulfilled, but I feel the opposite. Anything else I get to do is just icing!” —Chloe Melas

She ought to work her butt off about employing the word “butt” in public. It exudes the lifestyle of
those who waddle in the gutter, not the spotlight.
