You made one smart move at least, John. Apologizing via Twitter is the surest way for millions of people to see just how sorry you are for your cataclysmic screw-up
John Mayer’s mouth sure ain’t a wonderland. In fact, the singer’s loose lips have caused an uproar after he stupidly dropped the N-bomb in an interview with Playboy magazine. And now that he’s taking major heat for his toolbox trap, he decided to post his apology – via Twitter (natch) where the whole wide world could see just how vewy sowwy he was.
“Re using the “N word” in an interview. I am sorry that I used the word. And it’s such a shame that I did because the point I was trying to make was in the exact opposite spirit of the word itself,” the 32-year-old crooner tweeted Feb. 10. “It was arrogant of me to think I could intellectualize using it. Because I realize that there’s no intellectualizing a word that is so emotionally charged.”
Why is John apologizing? Check out his comment in Playboy and YOU be the judge.
“Someone asked me the other day, “What does it feel like now to have a hood pass?” And by the way, it’s sort of a contradiction in terms, because if you really had a hood pass, you could call it a nigger pass. Why are you pulling a punch and calling it a hood pass if you really have a hood pass? But I said, “I can’t really have a hood pass. I’ve never walked into a restaurant, asked for a table and been told, ‘We’re full.’”
We just have one comment – Taylor Swift, why in the hell are you dating this guy?!

Wow, he doesn’t come across as racist OR homophobic in the article so much as SELF-ABSORBED and narcissistic. I think he was trying to be profound and “honest”, but his choice of words was really insensitive.
John, you may have a LOT of black friends, but you can NEVER use that word.
Yes, Perez is one of the meanest people I have ever seen, but that word is over the top (again, I get the intent, but most people aren’t looking for subtext once you offend them).
What he said about Jen was ALMOST nice, but I don’t understand what he meant about why he had to break up with her.
Was he on something perhaps? I like to give people the benefit of the doubt, but the interview makes him seem more P-U than Fabu!
At least he apologized for his remarks after he read the article. I am certain NO ONE in the public eye would want to come across like he did.
