Forget the chocolate fondue with strawberries, pineapple or even bananas! Jessica Biel has moved on to a much tastier dessert…chocolate covered crickets!
Jay Leno sure had a flavorful Valentine’s Day present for Jessica Biel on his show Wednesday night, Feb 3…a chocolate fondue set with crickets as the main kabob! Jessica thought her visit to Leno was strictly a promotion for her new movie, Valentine’s Day, in theaters Feb 12, but boy was her hunch wrong! Leno surprised her with an interesting array of chocolate covered treats from pineapple, bacon, pizza, to crickets. And how did she react? “That is good! It’s this savory sweet thing,” she said to Leno (more in reference to the bacon than the crickets). But, she did crunch down on the ‘natural’ hors d‘oeuvre without any hesitation! HollywoodLife.com Executive Editor Will Lee tells us that eating crickets…is like eating “Chee-tos with no cheese powder!”
We can honestly say that only one of us HollywoodLifers has tried crickets. The rest of us here choose to stick to main stream and main courses dishes! As for Jessica, we bet she thought eating chocolate covered crickets was kind of cool. She’s always been a bit of a hippy!
Either way, chocolate covered crickets can stay as the “big [thing] in China” as Leno puts it. We would much rather have some Godiva strawberries for Valentine’s Day, thank you very much!
