Rihanna and Keri Hilson’s gorgeous shadows stood out amongst the sea of smokey eyes at the Grammys.

I have to admit, I’m a little tired of seeing so many starlets wearing the same old safe black or brown smokey eyes. Yes, they look fabulous, that’s why they keep doing it! But, Rihanna with her icy white eyes and Keri Hilson in her plum smoke proved that sometimes color is definitely the way to go.

How to get Rihanna’s look!

  • “Rihanna wore this amazing dress so I pulled inspiration directly from that,” says celebrity makeup artist, Mylah Morales. “I applied Dior 1-Colour Eyeshadow in Crystal White #006 using a wet brush for more staying power.”

    How to get Keri’s look!

    • “I was inspired to play up Keri’s beautiful hazel eyes and also give a touch of edge to her Hollywood glam goddess look,” says celebrity makeup artist, Ashunta Sheriff. “Keri wanted to have a jewel tone smoke so I chose a beautiful deep purple shade from Mary Kay Mineral Eye Color in Sweet Plum on her lids and lower lash line. As a base to intensify the purple shadow I applied COVERGIRL Smoky ShadowBlast in Purple Plume,” Ashunta says. - Marta Topran
