The High School Musical is hosting a very un-Disney themed pole-dancing party to celebrate the day of love and romance
They grow up so fast! High School Musical star Monique Coleman clearly wants to show the world that she’s not just a tween star anymore, especially given her newest hobby can hardly be considered PG-rated.
“I got a Carmen Electra stripper pole!” the star boasted to us at DipDive.com and Blackberry’s Data Awards at the Hollywood Palladium Jan. 28. “So I’m gonna get my girls together [on Valentine’s Day] and we’re gonna have a party!”
But don’t be fooled by Monique’s choice of movie roles: the star is actually 29! We clearly can’t be disapproving of her sexy hobby when she’s nearly 30!
The independent woman (she’s definitely not a girl anymore) says she’s celebrating the most romantic day of the year with gal pals because, “I think that Valentine’s Day can be depressing for people and that makes me sad, because you should love yourself first and foremost,” she says, adding, “The relationship you have with yourself is most important.”
Well said, sister.
Are you freaking out that you may be solo, or are you going to celebrate loving the best person you know – yourself – on V-Day?

I think that Monique Coleman is using this day in a negative way. There are more ethical ways to love yourself then to turn to exhibitions such as a stripper pole. That is de-moralizing young girls today and I am shocked that a member of the Disney family would resort to such an act. Why not get a few of your girlfriends and go to the beach and work out at a gym or health club? I don’t like the idea. I would not want my little girls to be in touch with such behavior.
