The Jersey Shore crew is asking MTV to cough up more money or they’re going to walk!

btn_nayDo Snooki, Pauly D, and J-Woww really think they are the only overly-tanned hair gel addicts who vacation on the Jersey Shore?  Sure, this crew is cute — they have fun nicknames, schticks like abs and hair poofs, and a serious lack of shame  — but they are definitely not original!  It’s obvious that being on a reality show has turned these kids into serious divas!

Acting as though they are Jennifer Aniston and Matt LeBlanc from the days of Friends the cast of Jersey Shore on MTV are each demanding MORE than the $10,000 per episode MTV offered, to stay on the air for a second season.  And MTV’s response? Fuggedehboutit!

Yes, Lauren Conrad was pulling in $75,000 per episode of The Hills — but that was only after she put in two years at MTV on Laguna Beach. AND the rating for The Hills were steadily at 3 million viewers or higher for at least two seasons.  So LC definitely had to prove she was irreplaceable.

As much as we love Mike “The Situation” and the pickle-loving Snooki … there are dozens of charming guidos or guidettes right around the corner should this cast decide to play hardball with the network.

btn_nayThe season finale of Jersey Shore hit a record high with 4.8 million viewers. MTV should be forever indebted to this infamous debacle of a crew. Not only that — MTV is owned by Viacom which in plain english means they have plenty of money! Their original offer of $5,000 an episode with a $10,000 signing bonus was incredibly low! No wonder the cast turned it down!

The fact that Snooki, Pauly D, and the other castmembers came back with a counteroffer speaks volumes and shows that these guidos and guidettes may be a little more business savvy than once thought. MTV should suck it up and pay these kids the big bucks. Everyone knows that you don’t change a winning horse in mid-race. No matter what MTV may think – they should know that you can’t create magic with every ensemble cast. Getting a group together for a show that meshes is completely hit and miss. Plus, fans fell in love with Snooki, The Situation and J – Woww. They will be MAD if you ditch them for a new bunch of no-names. Hiring a whole new Jersey Shore crew will definitely cause major dramz with fans like me! — Corynne Steindler and Chloe Melas
