By George, there’s finally a man out there who’s all talk AND action!
Over the last week, George Clooney not only managed to gracefully (and handsomely) lose a Best Actor Golden Globe to Jeff Bridges, but he spent quality time with Italian girlfriend Elisabetta Canalis, organized a star-studded telethon for Haiti and, now, has even dug deep into his own pockets to donate $1 million of his own moolah. What a guy!
Let’s not forget that George had already donated a substantial amount of money to Haiti: he and his Ocean’s 11 crew of Matt Damon, Don Cheadle, Brad and producer Jerry Weintraub had already donated a combined sum of $1 million through their organization, Not On Our Watch. Which even usurps Gisele Bundchen’s humongous $1.5 million donation….no mean feat.
Meanwhile, George’s telethon, which airs tomorrow night, Jan. 22, simultaneously on ABC, CBS, NBC, FOX, E!, CNN, BET, The CW, HBO, MTV, VH1 and CMT, will feature more than 100 stars.
While George holds it down in LA, Wyclef Jean will anchor the program from New York City, Robert Pattinson will hang tight in Londontown and CNN’s Anderson Cooper will be reporting live via satellite from Haiti. You won’t be able to get away from the situation – and trust us, with the need in Haiti so necessary – we wouldn’t advise otherwise.
