Can you imagine being able to visit your significant other in the ICU, but not being legally allowed to speak to them?
The drama never ends. Brooke Mueller is in the Intensive Care Unit in Los Angeles recovering from a serious oral infection and a fever of 105 degrees Fahrenheit, but her husband, actor Charlie Sheen, is not allowed to speak to her because of a restraining order against him after the couple’s highly publicized Christmas Eve domestic dispute in Aspen.
Although Charlie’s lawyerfhas filed for modification of the protection order Jan. 20 so the couple can communicate, and it hasn’t been granted yet, Los Angeles-based family lawyer Michael G. Dave doesn’t believe Charlie, 44, will get into any trouble if a few words happen to slip out in 32-year-old Brooke’s room.
“Whatever goes down between Charlie and Brooke will be their secret to keep,” Dave explained to HollywoodLife.com. “I’m not suggesting they disregard the restraining order, but the practical reality is that if he’s in the room with her, who’s going to know what goes on between them?”
As long as Charlie addresses Brooke appropriately, and doesn’t harass her in any way, he most likely will not be held in contempt of court. “In my heart of hearts, I don’t think that would happen,” Dave said. “He went to the court anyway, which shows good faith on his behalf, and he’s making a humanitarian gesture.”
Alright, Charlie—no punching, kicking, yelling, hair-pulling, or threatening … and you should be just fine.
