Do you think the Gossip Girl’s Upper East Side princess has a shot at becoming the next Carrie Underwood?
Watch out Carrie Underwood, and Taylor Swift…Leighton Meester may just give you a run for your money. Why? The musical chameleon is delving into your genre: country!
“On the last leg of recording music for Love Don’t Let Me Down,” the 23-year-old actress wrote on her Twitter page Jan. 18, adding, “I love country music.”
Not only will Leighton be appearing alongside Gwyneth Paltrow, Tim McGraw and Garrett Hedlund in the Nashville-centered love drama, but she’ll also be recording a track on the album’s soundtrack. Exciting stuff!
We know that Leighton has pretty much killed every type of music form she’s tried: the unleashed her inner pop princess on Cobra Starship’s Good Girls Gone Bad, let loose some gangster hip-hop on Lil’ Wayne’s Make it Rain and showed off her seductive side with Robin Thicke on Somebody to Love.
OK, so we know Leighton can sing. But here’s the real question of the hour: can she really pull off cowboy boots? What do you think?
