What were you watching last night: NBC’s Golden Globes ceremony or the season premiere of Fox’s 24?
The numbers have it: Mo’Nique, Sandra Bullock and Drew Barrymore all kicked Kiefer Sutherland’s Jack Bauer as the 67th Annual Golden Globe Awards bested the two-hour season premiere of 24 Jan. 17, bringing in nearly 17 million viewers.
The bigger numbers moved NBC into first position at 9 P.M. and gave them a boost from last year. Compared to 2009, the show was up 14% from last year and topped 24’s nearly 12 million viewers. Over at ABC, it was a bloodbath as Desperate Housewives fell to a series all-time low hovering around 11 million eyeballs.
Its safe to say the ladies of Wisteria Lane and super agent Jack Bauer will fare better next week when they don’t have to contend withJennifer Aniston’s legs, Mariah’s boobies and Taylor Lautner’s butt. That’s some pretty stiff competition for anyone!
