Wow, we’re shocked … you’ve gone all PG-rated on us, Adam!

After Adam Lambert‘s crazy controversial boy-on-boy action during the AMA’s in November 2009, we expected the American Idol alum’s music video to be, well, racier. But his new single “Whataya Want From Me,” which debuted Jan. 15, is Lambert-lite. The things that make the sassy singer so unique — his crazy clothes, glam makeup and flashy back-up dancers — are weirdly absent.

Maybe the 27-year-old is trying to show a new side of himself after being labeled a troublemaker on national TV? Just a thought. You’ll see what we mean when you check out the above video, which shows Adam walking around an empty apartment in simple black pants and a matching tee with – gasp! – minimal eyeliner. (Has the apocalypse come early?)
