Do you have what it takes to be the next Lea Michele, Mark Salling or Jane Lynch?
As if there was ever any doubt (um, hello – the show just received four Golden Globe nods including Best Television Series) Glee is coming back for a second season! We here at HollywoodLife.com are singing Katrina and the Waves’ Walking on Sunshine as we speak in joy, but don’t mind us.
In addition to this obviously awesome news, we can do you one better: Fox announced today, Jan. 11, that all you Gleeks have the chance to morph into your favorite stars. Executive producers will begin a nationwide casting search this February to fill three new roles. As executive producer and creator Ryan Murphy says, “The search is on!”
The criteria: if you are between 16 and 26, you can submit auditions online. The submission process hasn’t been solidified yet, but keep checking www.fox.com/glee for updates. If you ARE one of the lucky chosen few, you’ll get to appear in the Fall 2010 season premiere.
The best part? You don’t have to be a beauty queen or Ms. Popular to win one of the coveted spots. “Anybody and everybody now has a chance to be on a show about talented underdogs,” says Murphy. No matter who you are – a Broadway talent or a struggling singing waiter with a dream in the Midwest – you now have an opportunity to make that dream come true by posting your talent video and showing us what you can do. ALL the roles will be chosen from the video audition process, which is exciting and unprecedented.”
We highly suggest you start singing into your hairbrush, or in the shower, or to your dog starting…now. Good luck Gleeks!
