Do you find yourself struggling year after year to actually follow through with the promises you made Jan. 1?
Making New Year’s resolutions is the easy part. Keeping them for the full 12 months is a completely different story.
Luckily for them, the Hollywood elite made some smart — and attainable — resolutions this year. Justin Bieber wanted to spend more time with his family, Emily Blunt hoped to cook every day in January and Kim Kardashian wanted to tighten up her tush.
Smart choices, guys! Or so says life coach Kathee Hill, who tells HollywoodLife.com, “It’s all about looking at your goal and making sure it’s not a ‘should’ goal. Ask yourself if you’ve had this resolution more than a year. If so, it’s a ‘should’ goal and it’s lifeless.”
Why? “If you didn’t do it last year, you’re most likely not going to get it done again this year,” says LifeCoach.com‘s Hill, who recommends setting smaller goals instead. For example: If you’ve unsuccessfully dropped the 10 lbs. you said you’d drop last year, try to pinpoint certain areas that might help you get in better shape — hiring a trainer or going to the gym at least several times a week.
Another tip: Use the buddy system! “We make great goals but we get to a certain point and maybe we get stuck,” says Hill. “It’s about finding a coach or a friend who can keep you accountable for your actions.”
Our celeb friends should have no problem with this, especially since so many blasted their resolutions on Twitter … now the entire cyberworld will REALLY know whether or not they’ll follow through!
What’s YOUR resolution? Do you think you’ll succeed?
