The Barefoot Contessa has her knives out for Jen!
Jennifer Garner is finding out the hard way that there are things in life that money and fame just can’t buy. The actress had high hopes that her A-list name would help in getting her onto one of her favorite cooking shows, the Food Network’s Barefoot Contessa.
Alas, the Contessa herself, Ina Garten, wasn’t having it.
“I tried to get on Ina’s show,” Jennifer, 37, told W magazine in its January 2010 issue. “I tried to use my, well, you know … I say, use what you have to make the world better or for yourself! But eventually she just said, ‘I’m sorry.'”
Apparently Jen’s pretty looks, sweet personality and multi-million dollar grossing movies weren’t enough to get her on the 30-minute cooking program. She was sad that she couldn’t make an appearance but Ina, 61, crushed her dreams even more by saying that she only uses “my real friends on the show.”
“I felt like, What are you saying? That we’re not friends? I know everything about you!” the enthusiastic home cook recalled forlornly.
Well, it’s no secret that Jen is obsessed with celeb chefs — she named her Labrador retriever Martha Stewart and acts like a giddy kid in a candy shop whenever she’s on the 68-year-old domestic diva’s daytime talk show.
Since Ina’s not letting you into her kitchen, Jen, maybe you should follow in her culinary footsteps and host your own cooking show! And then YOU can keep HER off your show!
