It’s time to up your moisturizer game this winter!

Ever wonder why your skin starts to hate you the second temperatures start to drop? “In the colder months, skin becomes less oily. Plus, outdoor elements such as the hard wind and indoor culprits such as dry heat can excessively dry out the skin,” says Dr. Howard E. Sobel. To counteract the excessive dryness, opt for a richer moisturizer at night and don’t forget the sunscreen during the day! “One of the biggest mistakes people still make during winter is skipping out on the sunscreen. Many people stop using sun block once it gets colder, but the facts remain that premature aging is a result of cumulative environmental damage from incidental sun exposure that can occur all year long,” Dr. Sobel warns. The heating in my house is killing my skin. I have got to get a moisturizer with an SPF of more than 15.
