Now you can! Your favorite dancers from So You Think You Can Dance and DWTS share their workout and diet tips with YOU.
It’s no secret the holiday season wreaks havoc on all of our diets! We’re sick of this vicious cycle, so we asked some of the fittest people we know – the dancers from our fave reality shows – how they keep their fabulously toned bodies during the overindulgent holiday season.
We weren’t surprised when pretty much everyone had one answer in common: Dancing, of course!
“Dancing is a great workout and you don’t even realize it while you’re doing it,” raved DWTS‘ ballroom dancer Anna Trebunskaya.
Her hubby, fellow DWTS hoofer Jonathan Roberts, agreed. “Try ballroom! It’s a great way to stay fit and have fun!”
DWTS season six champion and figure skating Olympic gold-medalist, Kristi Yamaguchi swears she’s stayed in shape for years by following one simple rule: moderation. “You know, you can indulge in holiday sweets, but just don’t over do it,” she told us.
Long-time DWTS pro Lacey Schwimmer said she has to be strict with herself. “I cut out sugars and sodas because they make you bloated,” she admitted. “But I have a rule on holidays: you’re allowed to eat whatever you want!” Of course, there’s a caveat. “But you have to work it off,” Lacey clarified. Ugh.
So You Think You Can Dance season five winners Katee Shean and Joshua Allen both agree working out is key. “Eat your pumpkin pie, because you don’t want to skip it,” Katee advised. “But do eat in moderation. Work out.”
At first, we LOVED Josh’s advice. “Eat whatever you want!” he encouraged. But THEN he added, “And work out really hard. That’s what we do!” (We knew it was too good to be true!)
