OK, so you can’t be quite as giving as your favorite stars…they donate dollars by the millions!

We at HollywoodLife.com are glad to see that celebrities are using their mega bucks for good causes! We’re especially in awe of talk show queens Oprah Winfrey and Ellen DeGeneres, who both, respectively, donated $1.5 million each this year.

Madame O donated her dosh to Atlanta, GA inner city school The Ron Clark Academy; she also gave the kids an additional $350,000 in 2008. Her moolah will be used to expand the school’s campus by building a gym, cafeteria and theatre. Ellen, the newest American Idol judge, also helped out children by raising money for Toys for Tots on her show.

Alec Baldwin and director Tyler Perry hit the $1 million mark with their charitable giving. While the It’s Complicated star proved that he still has school spirit by gifting the whopping amount to his alma mater, NYU’s Tisch Acting School, in order to create the Alec Baldwin Drama Scholarship Fund, Tyler donated his money to the NAACP.

Other big sharers include Alyssa Milano, who donated $75,000 to Charity: Water, Taylor Swift, who pledged $250,000 to various Tennessee schools and fashion designer Marc Jacobs, who hosted a Toy Drive at David Barton Gym in NYC.

But while most celebs donated their money, our favorite giver is Justin Long, who gave his TIME. The Going the Distance star played with and distributed gifts to homeless children at the Toys of Hope charity drive in NYC on Dec. 22. So sweet!

Kudos to each and every one of you. ‘Tis the season for giving, after all!
