Here’s what you need to know about the Italian beauty who’s scooped up one of Hollywood’s hottest bachelors!
She’s tall, gorgeous and extremely lucky. Meet Elisabetta Canalis, the 30-year-old Italian MTV VJ whose almost six-month courtship with George Clooney already has some guessing they’ll walk down the aisle.
But George hasn’t been Elisabetta’s first high-profile relationship. She’s been linked to former soccer star Christian ‘Bobo’ Vieri, Reginaldo and other players in the European football league, according to some reports.
If Eli, as her friends call her, doesn’t look familiar to you, it’s because she’s hasn’t been in the states too long. Before meeting George, she made the rounds in the TV biz, working on a daily news show, sports show and a few small series before landing her current gig as co-host of the Italian version of Total Request Live. Oh, and she’s also had some small parts in films like Deuce Bigelow: European Gigolo and Virgin Territory.
But that’s not all! Outside of the small and big screen, George’s gal — who looks like a Cindy Crawford clone! — has also posed for three topless calendars, a GQ shoot, and even graced the cover of German FHM.
Her work schedule, however, has been on a temporary hiatus. The globetrotting couple jetted around the world recently — making their public debut at the Venice Film Festival in September, vacationing with pals Cindy Crawford and Rande Gerber in Mexico and getting dolled up for the UNICEF Ball in Beverly Hills —but they’ve spent more time in Eli’s home country, where they reportedly first met at the rooftop restaurant of Rome’s Hotel Majestic.
George better know there’s always going to be a third person in the relationship: Elisabetta’s dog. “I have now become more fussy about who I date. And in any case my future boyfriend will have to share my bed with [mini Doberman] Piero, too,” she told Italian magazine Tu over the summer.
Piero might have to stay home though when the duo makes the rounds at this year’s award shows. With George’s SAG and Golden Globe nominations, no doubt he’ll be attending, and we have a feeling we know who’ll be his date!

Right!!! I was going to say that she looked like Cindy Crawford. You guys beat me to it. It’s so weird that they vacation with Cindy and her husband. I’m starting to think George has a thing for Cindy and went out of his way to find her clone. I hope I’m wrong though. In the mean time someone should make that into a movie.
