Can you imagine how hard it is to bring a family with 19 children together for the holidays?
The hospital where Michelle and Jim Bob Duggar‘s 19th child, Josie, remains in the NICU is more than 200 miles from the Duggar home in Tontitown, Ark., and there was little hope that the massive family was going to be together for the holidays. Thanks to one kind Little Rock family who’s opening their doors to the entire clan, everyone—even baby Josie—can spend Christmas as a family.
Josie Duggar was born prematurely Dec. 10 and weighed merely one-and-a-half pounds. Thankfully, both she and her mom are doing well. “Josie is 2-weeks-old today,” Jim Bob told People on Christmas Eve. “We continue to take things day by day – she remains in the NICU where doctors are tracking her progress.”
The family’s rural town is far away from the hospital, so the notoriously close group thought they’d be separated on one of the most important days of the year. Thankfully, one charitable family saved the day.
“We’re grateful that a close friend in Little Rock has opened up their home to us for the holidays,” Jim Bob explained, saying the family is overjoyed to be close to their newest member on her first Christmas.
