Hey, 'Jersey Shore' Cast! New Jersey Italians Are Not Happy With Your Reality Show!

File this under things that were bound to eventually happen: New Jersey’s Italian residents don’t love MTV’s Jersey Shore quite as much as the rest of us.

The AP reports the New Jersey Italian American Legislative Caucus is up in arms, claiming “the show promotes derogatory ethnic stereotypes” and is “wildly offensive.”  Nooooo! Snooki, Mike “The Siutation” and Pauly D are like the best things that ever happened to television!

But apparently, caucus chairman Joseph Vitale doesn’t agree.  He even sent a letter to Viacom, MTV’s parent company, asking that “the show be immediately taken off the air.”  The group has even asked advertisers to boycott the show … but we doubt that will happen.  Jersey Shore is AXE Body Spray’s dream!!

MTV has said in the past that it doesn’t intend “to stereotype or offend” … and we believe them.  It’s not like MTV invented the Jersey Shore.  It’s REALLY like that there!  Plus, the producer is a guy named Tony DiSanto … just sayin’.

On the other hand, we see see how something like this could probably be offensive:

i am 100% italian and im from new york and i find this show to be absolutely hysterical. my mom hates it yes but me, my father, my brother and my sister love it. its not saying italians are dumb and sleezey its just a group of kids having fun, yet! if it had been spanish people or african americans it would be the end of the world and there would be a law suit already. its a reality show, not a documentary.

I am a born and raised Italian Jersey Girl, and unlike Snookie and the rest of the cast of buffoons I go to the beach not “down the shore”. The problem with the show is that it gives all beach towns in NJ a bad name and makes people think as you said, “It’s REALLY like that there!” This is 100% false! Why don’t you step into a real beach town in NJ? If MTV was smart they would have filmed in one of these towns and had a show that would rival Laguna Beach or The Hills. MTV has the nation thinking that everyone in NJ is a fist-pumping, juiced up, stereotype when in reality none of the cast members are even from NJ! Locals don’t go to Seaside aka “Sleezeside” where the show is filmed. As for me and my paesans, we wouldn’t want to be on national television calling each other guidos and guidettes, making the nation think that this is acceptable behavior.

Damn!! Snooki is nasty. My deepest condolences go out the people at the party who had to see that.
