Do you remember wanting to shop for “perfect” first-day-of-school outfits?
That’s what it must have been like for both Diane and Katie, getting ready for their first night of nightly news anchoring.
And not surprisingly, they were mirror images of each other. Katie, who took the historic step as first female anchor on Sept. 5, 2006, started her stint in a white fitted jacket over black T-shirt. Diane, who took the anchor chair last night, Dec. 21, chose a dark gray jacket and white blouse. Both women were highly blonde.
So my questions to you are:
#1) Did their looks convey Walter Crokite gravitas?
#2 Who did First Night dressing better?
#3 Do Female Anchors have to be Blonde?

1. I can’t really say I don’t watch the evening news. I usually get my news from Stephen Colbert and John Stewart. God bless em.
2. Diane hit it out of the park! Katie could have done better, but hey it was 2006 so maybe she did look good three years ago.
3. No, I think these two just look better blonde. Brunettes anchors are always so striking that I can’t keep my focus. There’s just something about them. Blondes are everywhere nowadays so it’s not that special to see one.
