You helped raise more than $75,000 for a non-profit that helps people get access to clean water.
Happy Birthday, Alyssa Milano! You just turned 37 on Dec. 19 and with Christmas coming up in less than a week, we expected you’d get tons of presents but looks like you’re the one doing some major gift giving.
“All I want for my Birthday is to fund clean water projects for 5 communities,” Alyssa wrote on her MyCharityWater.org page, asking friends and family to donate to the organization. Her campaign goal at first was $50,000 but with the help of pals she quickly broke through that mark — and raised $78,613, which will go straight to helping people in developing nations access clean water.
“This is the best Birthday gift I’ve EVER received,” she tweeted on her b-day. “There are no words to express my gratitude.”
We’re sure she’ll find a way to thank everyone, including her famous friends who generously pitched in. “Castle” star Nathan Fillion donated $3,700 in honor of Alyssa’s 37th birthday (she filmed a guest spot on his ABC drama which will air early next year) and Twitter creator Jack Dorsey did the same.
