EXCLUSIVE: Jessica Simpson's Friends Think Billy Corgan Is 'Kinda Weird'

It’s not easy to get behind too many of Jessica Simpson‘s dating choices (John Mayer: Bust. Dane Cook: Not so much. Tony Romo: Fail.) And as much as we want to root for Jess to find love with Smashing Pumpkins front man Billy Corgan … it’s a very odd match! Even Jessica’s friends “kind of think he’s weird” according to one insider.

One source familiar with Jessica’s inner circle tells us EXCLUSIVELY, “Jessica’s friends like Billy, but they do think he’s kind of weird. He’s very preachy and he is always acting so deep.” Even Jessica’s sister Ashlee Simpson kept one eyebrow raised when she met Billy at dinner at Mr. Chow’s in TriBeCa the other week. It could be because Billy is 42, and Jessica is only 29, but our source says “they can’t figure out why she likes him.”

“Her friends are happy for her and so is Ashlee,” says the source. “But he’s difficult to relate to. He’s just kind of intense.”
