It's A Boy! Kendra and Hank Baskett Spill the Details on Little Hank IV: The Birth, The Name, and All That Hair!

He’s here! Kendra and Hank talk about the thrill of being new parents.

“He’s a perfect baby. I’m very, very happy,” said new mom Kendra Wilkenson about her adorable son, Hank Randall Baskett IV. She and her husband Hank Baskett, 27, wide receiver for the Indianapolis Colts, welcomed their baby on Dec. 11 at 12:37 a.m. in Carmel, Ind. He was delivered by C-section and weighed 9 pounds, 5 ounces, and was 22 inches long. The first interview and behind-the-scenes photos came out in today’s OK! magazine–here’s a peek at some of what they said:

Kendra before the birth:

–“We ate a huge dinner before we came to the hospital. I ate a whole batch of brownies because I was so nervous. No wonder he’s 9 pounds!”

— “I was set on having him naturally, but after hours of waiting: nothing. Finally, the doctor said, ‘We’re gonna have to do a C-section.’ I just started crying. Then my whole family cheered me up. I was like, ‘All right. Let’s just get this done.'”

Kendra on the birth:

–“‘Finally I hear Hank go, “Here he comes! I see his head! That was the best thing I’ve ever heard.'”

Hank on holding him for the first time:

–“I was as nervous as could be, holding him, because I’ve never really held a newborn before.”

On their first words to him:

Kendra: “Happy birthday, Hank.”

Hank: “I just said, ‘I love you so much.’ I couldn’t stop saying, ‘I love you.'”

On their favorite moment so far:

Hank: “I got to be the first person to feed and burp him. It was awesome!”

Kendra: “I think the most special moment was to see Hank hold him. He’s going to be such a great dad!”

Kendra on who he looks like:

— “He has so much hair! I’m the one who has a lot of hair, so he definitely takes after me with that! And he has Hank‘s lips. He looks like both of us.”

Kendra on whether or not Hugh Hefner will be the godfather:

–“Hef will always be there, but he’s not the godfather.”

Kendra on talking to Girls Next Door co-stars Holly Madison or Bridget Marquardt?

–“I haven’t talked to anybody. I feel like I’ve been in a cave for a million years. I’m just trying to enjoy these new moments with him and with my faily. Then I’ll go back to the real world.”

Kendra on his personality:

–“He’s such a good baby. Very mellow. And you know what? He’s a social butterfly already. He talks to everybody.”
