Selena Gomez: Emile Hirsch Has Inspired You To Go To Africa!

Forget the glitz and glamour of Hollywood — Selena Gomez wants to go to back to Africa!  And the youngest UNICEF ambassador ever has actor Emile Hirsch to thank for inspiring her.

“I’d love to go to the Congo,” she told us on the Blue Carpet of the UNICEF Snowflake Ball Dec. 10. “That’s where Emile Hirsch went and he did that whole article and journal about it [in Men’s Journal]. I read that and was like, ‘OK, I’ve gotta go.’ He said it was the worst place he’s ever been to. Yes, next year we’re hoping to plan a trip but don’t know where exactly yet.”

Selena went to Ghana in September, with the mission to help save children from preventable diseases. Unlike some starlets (ahem, Lindsay Lohan), it seems like Selena really knows a lot about the issues she’s involved in.

The Wizards of Waverly Place starlet doesn’t just want to do good … she also looks gorgeous in her strapless magenta Marchesa dress and Judith Lieber bag!  The huge celebrity charity event, held at the Beverly Wilshire Four Seasons in LA, drew the biggest A-List names like George Clooney, Matt Damon, Angelina Jolie, Brad Pitt, Ellen Barkin, and Cindy Crawford. —Corynne Steindler & Eunice Oh
